A Priest to Pray for...Matthew Fox

Since we are doing a series on prayer for priests, I'd like to draw attention to one that needs lots of prayers - Matthew Fox. Recall that the priesthood is a mark on the soul, not something that is just taken off.

While you may despise the idea of praying for priests like this, remember simple Christian principles - that love must rule, even for our "enemies". Also, we need to spend time in prayer, and in making sacrifices in reparation for damages done to holy Mother Church. As one of the Fathers of the Holy Cross said in a sermon last summer, "....the next time you feel like having a piece of chocolate, pass it up and offer up that small sacrifice...". This is hardly language heard from most pulpits today. If you think this kind of sacrifice is meaningless, think of your most favorite food or drink, then try passing it up when you really have a craving for it. Giving something up for the love of God has redemptive value - something that can be used by God to help the Church.

Convert one priest like this through prayers, and you'll win back many souls he has led astray "through all sorts of strange teachings".

If you don't believe such a conversion is possible, then you don't understand the power of prayer and grace. How many did not believe the iron curtain could fall in Russia? Pray a rosary, dedicatea a holy hour, pray a divine mercy chaplet, and make small sacrifices. Most of all, believe!

I'm going to pray for this priest - what are you gonna do?
