The obedient are not held captive by Holy Mother Church; it is the disobedient who are held captive by the world!

I was privileged to know Fr. Fox. He was a simple, holy man wholly dedicated to bringing Catholics to Jesus through his Mother. I have no doubt he is in heaven.
Some thirty years ago I was a regular reader of Fr. Fox's column in the National Catholic Register. I think I am a better person for having done so. To me, his words seemed to convey the best balance of Catholic spirituality: compassion; instruction; inspiration; and tolerance. I wish I had thanked him during his lifetime, but maybe he understands now the gratitude of people such as me more than he would have done while he was living.
