Video: Archbishop Dolan calling out the NY Times

I blogged on this the other day, linking to a post made by Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York at his blog

Now, there is a video story by a local news network, which includes an interview with +Dolan.  I'm glad he spoke out and I think all of us need to keep hitting home the message that they wouldn't have done this to any other religious, ethnic or racial group in the US.

No. The message we need to tell them is human respect, respect for the truth, and to respect the Times journalists unto helping them better understand the One Holy Church.

Why would anyone who disagrees with you take the time to comment on your blog, with that kind of a restrictive statement?

You are a microcosm of what is most disturbing about your faith tradition.

I suppose it was this which you disagree with:

Comments which contain anything remotely smacking of slander and detraction will not be posted since I am ultimately responsible for what is published on my blog.

Disagreement with me on a point is not the same as creating scandal through calumny and detraction of a person. Viewpoints can be discussed and disagreed upon, but I think I have a right to reject what appears to be gossip about a person.
