Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary - and the Spirit of Mary Victrix

Paolo Veronese's The Battle of Lepanto
c. 1572, Gallerie dell'Accademia, Venice

Today is the Feast of the Holy Rosary, and also a day in which we recall the Our Lady of Victory at the great battle of Lepanto.  I am going to turn you over to Fr. Angelo at MaryVictrix who has a great post up on this.

Go read, The Spirit of Mary Victrix

Also, please say a prayer for the repose of my father's soul.  October 5th marked 19 years since he died at the age of 59 from complications of cancer.  I could not get a Mass for him on that day at Grotto, but was delighted to find the 7:00pm Mass on October 7th open.  Dad was particularly devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Rosary.  How fitting it was that the evening Mass at Grotto on that date would be for him!

Please note that every Thursday, following the evening Mass we have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and a Holy Hour for the Sanctification of the Priesthood.  The "Passio Domini" ends about an hour after Mass has finished, generally ending between 8:45 and 9:00pm.
