Yesterday, we celebrated the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was a hot day, and having fallen on a Saturday, was not obligatory. Yet, many came to honor Mary at the grotto built in her honor in Detroit, especially at the evening Mass.
Rather than post lots of images here, I'll send you to my Smugmug site where I have most of these uploaded. Still to be added yet, are iPhone shots and video.
Also, Fr. Perrone's homily was captured from the 7:00 PM Mass. The quality is lower because it was not a direct feed, but it is definitely workable, and worth the listen.
More is coming tomorrow, including some iPhone photos that turned out quite well from earlier in the day, possibly the video that was taken with the GoPro (which also took many still shots you will see in the photo gallery above), and Fr. Perrone's homily from 6:30 a.m. Mass in which he spoke on the Holy Eucharist. Check back tomorrow and I will update this post.
