Assumption Grotto Mass Notes for Pentecost and Corpus Christi

Pentecost

For Pentecost this Sunday, 9:30 a.m. is going to in the Extraordinary Form (1962 Missal) as it is each Sunday, except it is anticipated to be a Solemn High Mass. It will also be an orchestral Mass with the Assumption Grotto Choir and Orchestra under the direction of Rev. Eduard Perrone.

Here is information about the music:

Prelude: Le Deluge Prelude by Camille Saint-Saens.

Mass: Messe Cum Jubilo by Maurice Duruflé.

Offertory: Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Fauré

Communion: Ave Verum for voice, cello and strings by Théodore Dubois

also, O Salutaris Hostia for soprano, strings and organ by Carl Maria von Weber
The prelude music begins ten minutes before Mass time.

Corpus Christi

In the Noon calendar, Corpus Christi falls on Thursday, June 19, but is transferred to Sunday here.

On Sunday June 22, the 9:30 a.m. Mass will be a Latin Novus Ordo.

The Traditional Latin Mass will shift for this Sunday only, to the 12:00 Noon time slot, with a Corpus Christi Eucharistic procession on the grounds of the parish, weather permitting.  This is anticipated to be a Solemn High Mass.  It will also be an orchestral Mass with the Assumption Grotto Choir and Orchestra repeating the music from Pentecost Sunday.  The Mass celebrated will be an external celebration of Corpus Christi, in the Extraordinary Form.
