Friday Night Fish-Fry Talks on the Papacy at Assumption Grotto

In the past couple of years, Grotto-goers got accustomed to having their Friday Lenten supper during Fr. Perrone's talk at 6:00 PM.  It didn't materialize this year and apparently word traveled up that it was missed.  Starting this Friday, there will be a talk each of the next three weeks.  Fr. Perrone will kick it off this Friday. The following week will feature associate pastor, Fr. John Bustamante; and, one of the priests of the Holy Cross will do the final talk.  Below is the flyer.  In order to hear the talks you will need to purchase a dinner by the Grotto Knights of Columbus or provide a donation of comparable worth.

I can tell you that the fish this year is some of the best that I've had.  And, the baked fish is quite popular.  The Knights have mastered the art of making baked fish actually taste good.  The fried fish, while I did not eat it, was also raved about, and it was visibly *not greasy*.  Making fried fish that isn't dripping in grease is also an art and a science.

Some like to eat before the talk, but it's perfectly fine to eat during the talk.  That was the idea behind our monastic suppers in past years, was to eat and listen.

Following the talk, at 7:00 PM, the Stations of the Cross will be prayed.  The Mass comes after the Stations.  Fr. Perrone did this to provide a little extra time for the pre-Mass fast for those eating late.
