Random notes....

I've been very short on time due to some other obligations and this will continue for another week or two.  I will try to post something wholesome in the coming days, and I will try my best to update the Twitter feed once or twice daily for interesting news and posts.

Local Grotto Family Profiled in Archdiocesan "Adopt a Family" Program for Christmas
Each year the Archdiocese of Detroit has a program to help families that are struggling financially at Christmas time.  It is not limited to the unemployed but helps the underemployed too.  A family profiled in this week's Michigan Catholic, belongs to Grotto.

Please read their story, and consider donating to help them, and other families in the Detroit area this Christmas.

You can learn more about the program here, and even donate online.

Ave Maria Radio Pledge Drive
I know everyone is strapped financially right now, some moreso than others.   However, if you are a regular listener to local Catholic radio here in Detroit, or even if you are a podcast listener of shows produced here in Detroit, like Kresta in the Afternoon and Catholic Connection with Teresa Tomeo, please consider going to their website and offering a donation for their mini-pledge drive.

The station fell short in it's fall pledge drive, by about $130,000.  Folks, this great daily programming comes to us free, yet they rely on these donations to keep them afloat.

If they don't reach their goal by the end of the day, they will have to keep the lines open even longer.  Don't think that $10.00 is too little.  Your donation, adds up with the donations of others.  Or, perhaps you could support them with a small amount every month.

Here is the link to the pledge drive page where you can enter to donate online.  Or, if you'd rather call to make your pledge, there is a phone number, but I don't have it and won't have access to it during the day.  Hit the link above and click to enter so you can hear the pledge drive broadcast and pick up the phone number there.

McGIVNEY - THE MUSICAL: December 6, 8, 12, 13
The original musical production, McGivney, begins this coming Sunday at 7:00pm.  There will be four performances and I would not wait until the last day to come.  The best seating will probably be available on those first two dates.
