The Assumption Grotto Choir & Orchestra performed at Holy Cross Hungarian Catholic Church in Detroit this afternoon. I had to take my camera with me after seeing the absolute beauty within when we did our dress-rehearsal there last Tuesday.
This was a special day for the Hungarian people, as they remember November 4, 1956 - the end of a bold uprising against the Soviet communists, in which many died in their quest for freedom. Cherubini's Requiem was most appropriate for the 50th anniversary.
Here are a few samples taken about an hour before the concert. Click on the images for a much larger, detailed view. Simply beautiful!!!
