See my latet post: On Fr. Corapi: What if Christ had quit because of injustice?
While the audio in this YouTube clip sounds like Father Corapi, and puts forth arguments that have appeared from Santa Cruz media for which he is the CEO an President since he was suspended, I am merely passing along what is appearing on the fathercorapi.com website, and some links.
I'm leaving some room for the possibility that this is a hack job, but my gut instinct is that it is not a hack or a hoax. Before I offer more more serious comments, I will await word from his order and/or his bishop (who may be burning the midnight oil, as I write this).
Without further delay, here is what is appearing through fathercorapi.com, which, in my humble opinion is just plain creepy.
UPDATE 1: JUNE 18, 6:30AM
Here are some links of reactions in Catholic blogosphere. I will wait yet before offering my own commentary, in part due to time constraints, but also because this thing is so odd, I want to wait to hear from Church officials to be certain of it's authenticity. Based on the tone of voice, and the way things are said, I believe it is him. Why he did not show his face for any part of the video is beyond me, or is this how he plans to do his newfound "public ministry" outside of the Church, with a bit of mystery?
What sites to watch?
- Diocese of Corpus Christi
- Society of Our Lady of the the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT - Corapi's Order)
I dunno. Strange. Very strange.
I'll add more links to the bottom of this post later as people learn of this video and react to it. What is most shocking to me, is the reaction of some followers who support Father Corapi, who have bought the division that has been sold to them.
UPDATE: June 18, 2011 @1:15PM
Links were added to the list. Also, I'm thinking we may not see a statement out of the Diocese of Corpus Christi or SOLT until they have direct communicatios with Fr. Corapi to get the necessary, formal affirmations. Some of these links are being added without my reading them. Further, because I add a link to a commentary, does not necessarily mean that I agree with it's contents or tone. One post I did get to read, and which I think is a pretty good analysis of the message itself, is by Jimmy Akin. Many of the thoughts that came to my mind as I listened to the message, were captured by Jimmy very well.

Yeah, it does seem like a hoax.
But still, how do you fake someone's voice?
Oh well, prayers all around.
Well done Diane, once again...I'm looking forward to your insight on this...you did a great job with the "once called mother" Nadine Brown...reaction by their "corporations" were almost identical, their going off to mission beyond the Catholic Church is just about the same. In September when he was in Omaha (during the investigation period), he gave high high praise to her and the Intercessors in front of several thousand people...interesting, very interesting.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll do even better for us all in this area...not pretty, but what can we learn, that's the question. I love reading your prayerful and compelling work.
Oh it's authentic. It is on his own website.
My thoughts may come later. Sorta like Diane, waiting to here more info, and also make sure I don't say anything too uncharitable.
This is my own comment on him
http://yorkshireshepherd.blogspot.com/2011/06/distressing-case-of-fr-corapi-continues.html
He did not say anything that he has not said in the past. Fr. Corapi has stated before that he believes the Church's method for handling accused priests in extremely flawed. Now, he just happens to be experiencing it first hand, unfortunately. It was probably bound to happen considering his is a great prize for the devil. He does not sound angry or self-centered. He sounds completely sane and rational, and as a suspended priest, he indeed cannot practice publicly. He did not say he was leaving the priesthood. There is a difference. He also stated he is not guilty, and I believe him. Some people are concerned about him charging for tapes and presentations. I understand how they feel. But he had to pay for the filming, reproduction, travel, insurances, of his videos/presentations, and all such things that go into the process. Basically, from what I understand, he was running a small company. Also, he never received any "salary" from a parish or diocese from what I understand. How do people think he could pay for that stuff?
I truly believe Fr. Corapi is innocent of the accusations of misconduct and I support him both spiritually and in principle. God bless you, Fr. Corapi.
"How do people think he could pay for that stuff?"
Corapi is rich. He won over two million dollars in a lawsuit (fairly, I can only assume).
There is no indication he ever gave the money to charity, he never said he did or would do so.
So logically, he has the monetary needs to run a business - and so he has, and is stating another one called The Black Sheep Dog.
