EWTN Releases New Statement Regarding Fr. Corapi’s Programs

EWTN, after seeing reactonis from many in the digital continent who did not understand why they pulled all content by Father Corapi, released a new statement. This was a charitable thing to do based on some of the confusion that was out there.

As I pointed out in my last post on this subject, one document floating out there indicated that all bishops in the US have been notified that Father Corapi's faculties were suspended, pending the outcome of the investigation.

Whether one agrees with how that suspension came about or not, whether it is fair or unfair that he was suspended or not, has no bearing on what EWTN did.  The network, and the many others who all pulled his content, really had no choice. To continue running his shows would put their actions in direct conflict with a Church decision.  Go read the statement at Patrick Madrid's blog.
