Meditations from Carmel

I was contacted by a secular Carmelite whose community is engaged in an online apostolate to bring us audio meditations on Carmel. The community has the cooperation of ICS publications and works within "strict Carmelite boundaries" to bring these audio meditations to us. While many secular Carmelite communities work "in the background", and rather invisible to the world, this was a mission about which their community prayed. They recognized the potential for such an apostolate on the web and wanted to promote time-tested, solid Carmelite writings.

From their website:

The Carmelite Community at the Carmel of St. Joseph in St. Louis have produced these meditations which come directly from the treasury of writings of the great Carmelite Saints including St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, St. Therese of Lisieux, Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity, St. Teresa of the Andes, Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection, St. Teresa Benedicta and many more.

These are Podcasts - something which can be downloaded to an iPOD, MP3 or other audio player. You can subscribe to the feed, as well. But, you can also simply click on the MP3 file to listen to it on most computers while you are surfing. They are truly beautiful.

I will be creating a section in my sidebar for reputable Carmelite resources online. This will be among them.
